Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) KS2

The Staff Room is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA / Level 4 Teaching Assistant) for a full-time position at a welcoming junior school located in a North Northamptonshire village.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant who is confident working within Key Stage 2 and is looking for a consistent, long-term role within a supportive school environment.

The position will begin in mid-September and is initially a temporary, ongoing assignment, working Monday to Friday from 8:45am to 3:30pm. There is a strong possibility that the opportunity could become permanent for the right candidate.

The Role: Working as part of the school’s KS2 team, you will support pupils with their learning and development while working closely with teachers and other members of staff. As an HLTA, you will be expected to confidently take on additional responsibilities, including leading learning activities and providing classroom cover when required.

Your responsibilities may include:
Supporting teaching and learning across Key Stage 2
Leading planned learning activities with individuals, groups and whole classes
Providing classroom cover when required
Supporting pupils with a range of abilities and individual learning needs
Helping pupils to develop confidence and independence in their learning
Promoting positive behaviour and engagement
Working closely with teachers to support pupil progress
Helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment

We would love to hear from you if you:

Hold an HLTA / Level 4 Teaching Assistant qualification
Have experience supporting children within a primary setting
Are confident leading groups and delivering planned learning to a whole class
Have a good understanding of the primary curriculum
Can build positive and professional relationships with pupils and staff
Have a calm, confident and proactive approach
Are reliable, enthusiastic and committed to helping children achieve their potential
Experience of supporting pupils with additional needs would also be beneficial.

You must hold a HLTA or Level 4 TA qualification, be energetic and motivated, have a good understanding of the primary curriculum and have good classroom management skills. You will need to satisfactorily complete all safeguarding checks to include enhanced DBS, Teaching Regulations Agency Check, Children’s Barred List Check and professional references. Newly qualified teachers are welcome to apply.
