Safeguarding

As an agency, The Staff Room is committed to Safeguarding & promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

The Staff Room appreciate how difficult a role within a school environment can be and are always here to listen to any concerns you may have.

As The Staff Room’s Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), I am always available either by phone on 01604 386833 or by email [email protected] to help/listen to any safeguarding concerns or incidents that may have happened whilst undertaking an assignment on the agency’s behalf.

Before starting work for The Staff Room over 4 years ago, I was one of the designated safeguarding leads at a Primary School within the Northampton area and saw first hand how important it is to ensure that any concerns are fed back as these can form a bigger picture over a length of time. I was involved in weekly meetings where outside agencies were invited to pass on relevant information, in the strictest of confidence, regarding pupils at the school. I am hoping that my previous experiences will help me in my role as DSL for The Staff Room.

The ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ document is emailed to all our candidates in Sept of each year, and we ask that you take time to read this to ensure that you keep up to date with procedures and regulations in place. We will also be sending the ‘Working Together to Safeguard Children’ to refer to should you need any further guidance.

The Staff Room receives a quarterly bulletin from The Northamptonshire Safeguarding Children Partnership which we intend to share with you in the future. This will highlight you to any areas of focus within the Northamptonshire area and provide you with links for further information should you require it.

Many thanks as always to you, our dedicated staff, who we appreciate have worked and continue to work in challenging and ever-changing environments. Your support and continued hard work are greatly appreciated. Please don’t hesitate to contact us should you need too.

With many thanks

Claire Potterton, Designated Safeguarding Lead
