The Staff Room Agency Limited is looking for SEN Teaching Assistant’s to work in various primary schools in Lutterworth and the surrounding area, to fill temporary (short to long-term) assignments. These positions offer a valuable opportunity to gain further SEN experience while making a meaningful contribution to children’s learning and development.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with SEN children on either a small group or 1:1 basis, following the direction of the teacher. This will involve working with the children to support their individual needs whilst following directions shown in their EHC plan. The roles may also involve preparing resources and managing pupil behaviour. Positions may include supporting children that have been diagnosed with either Autism, ASD, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia or have Behavioural issues.

The Staff Room Requirements
Essential
• You must have at least 6 months experience within the last 3 years supporting children’s learning within a childcare environment or organisation
• You can work in a variety of different settings – including on a 1:1 basis with a child or a group of children with SEN
• You must have a desire to help and assist potentially vulnerable children and to understand the individual needs of children you are supporting
• You must be energetic, motivated and patient
• You must show initiative and the ability to work confidently on your own or as part of a team
• You will need to satisfactorily complete all safeguarding checks to include DBS, children’s barred list, Teaching Regulation Agency checks and professional references (at least 1 x reference MUST be from childcare related employment which will be able to comment on safeguarding over a minimum 6 month period)
You must also hold GSCE English and Mathematics or equivalent qualifications.
Desirable
• Any qualifications relating to childcare or education
• An NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistant’s
• Team Teach training
• Experience working with a child or group of children with ASD and complex needs
• Experience with PECS, Makaton and Team Teach
• Able to assist pupils with personal care and toileting
